HEN & AWWA Christmas Fulfill a Wish 2020
A big thank you again to the HEN donors who brought smiles and warmed the hearts of children through generous sponsorship of Christmas gifts last year!
This year, let’s continue to spread the joy and love to the little ones (age 18 mths to 6 years old) and bring smiles to parents of the young children at Kindle Garden supported by AWWA. We have pledged to support 80 children!!
Your kind donation of a gift worth S$25 to a child will surely help to brighten up many children especially during these trying times.
If you wish to sponsor gifts for more than one child, please feel free to do so.
As the center will be closing early in Nov, we would greatly appreciate to hear from you before *1st October 2020* so as to buy, wrap and deliver the gifts to the children in time.
Thank you once again and we sincerely hope to have your continued support. Please feel free to message Jean @90211571 or Lidya@82493579 if you have any queries
August 2020Conversational malay
Did you know that the Malay language was the lingua franca for the region between the 18-20th century? Why not learn how to speak this historical language ? A ‘ Conversational Malay ‘ online workshop has been held in August by Fara Pawzi. Date : 29th Aug 2020 Sat Time : 10-11am
Fara Pawzi, 27, is currently working with MyRepublic, a telecommunication company. Her role in the company is to work with Partners – Consumer Sales Team (a.k.a Resellers). During her free time, she enjoys reading and listening to podcasts on Spotify. She is also a volunteer with a few organisations namely M3 (a platform to for Malay/Muslim community), MSF and EduGrow (LCSS).
The session involved learning the basics of a new language such as greetings,
personal pronouns, adjectives, words for places & family and how to count. We also learnt
about the Malay culture, customs & etiquette. It was deeply engaging and an enriching
experience for all of the participants. By the end of the session, we even picked up a few
slang words too! We raised $60 from this session. Terima Kasih (Thank you) everyone for
